The KEI-week wouldn’t happen without its incredible army of volunteers. The Executive and Senior Executive Board as well as the Event Managers are long term volunteers putting together the KEI-week. However, there are also a huge amount of crew workers who start their work shortly before the start of the KEI-week. Every crew has its own set of jobs and responsibilities. Below is a short description of the work involved with all the different crews.
Do one of these crews sound fun to you? Would you like to join the team making the KEI-week possible? Send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
The EVENT-crew is a big team of people who have varying responsibilities. Approximately 130 EVENT-crewers make sure that the KEI-week happens as it should do. As such, the EVENT-crew is an unmissable and priceless addition to the KEI week. As CREW-member you make sure the KEI-week is as fantastic as it is!
The tasks of the EVENT-crew contain:
As EVENT-crew you have many advantages:
The EVENT-crew is active from the Saturday before the KEI-week (11 August 2018). This Saturday will be about getting to know each other and team building activities. Prior to the KEI-week the EVENT-crew will be divided into groups, so that during the week you can collaborate with the same people as much as possible and thus get to know them. For this you can indicate that you want to be placed with group with friends who have also signed up. Together with this crew you will also enjoy all the events in the KEI-week. When your group is not scheduled to help, you can also go to performances, take part in the pub crawl and experience a fantastic week with the other students of the organization!
From 1 May, you can sign up for the EVENT-crew via this link.
Decorating the KEI-week is very important for getting a fantastic KEI-atmosphere. This is the FIELD-crew’s responsibility during the KEI-week. They are responsible for making sure that all banners, decorative and informative are hung up. Just like the BULK-crew the FIELD-crew uses various modes of transport to realize the decoration. The FIELD-crew consists of 12 volunteers who work throughout the KEI-week. The FIELD-crew also helps making decorations with a professional decorating business (PABLO) the four Saturdays leading up to the KEI-week. For this crew we are looking for hard workers who would like to be part of an amazing team to make the KEI-events more spectacular than they already are!
The NIGHT-crew is a group of students who are responsible for the reduction of all the big events during the KEI-week. For this crew we are looking for enthusiastic die-hard students who like to take responsibility and make the completion as smooth as possible.
The nice part about this crew is that you can combine it with the EVENT-crew and you have a close crew that you can also get to know before the KEI-week. The NIGHT-crew consists of 10 real night owls. If you want to have a bigger part in the KEI-organisation and make an extra contribution, then the NIGHT-crew is definitely something for you!
The EHBO-crew is a close team of students who are responsible for the first aid during all the events of the KEI-week. The EHBO-crew supports the KEI-lopers in time of need and has an important part in the safety of the KEI-week!
Unfortunately you can not apply for the EBHO-crew is you don’t speak Dutch.
The PHOTO-crew makes sure that all the fun that happens during the KEI-week is documented. They make photos of all the events, which are then posted on the website. Would you like to see last year’s photos? Klick here! The PHOTO-crew consists of 10 photographers. In order to be part of the PHOTO-crew you need to have both your own camera and an affinity with photography.
The OFFICE-crew is the helpdesk during the KEI-week and can be found at the KEI-office at the Pelsterstraat. They make sure that everything at the KEI-office is in order. This means updating social media, picking up the phone and answering phone calls and questions from KEI-lopers and KEI-leaders. The OFFICE-crew works the whole KEI-week and consists of 10 volunteers.
Thirst quenchers are also required during the events. The TAP-crew is responsible for the many bars during the KEI-week. The KEI-lopers can buy soda and beer at these bars and all crew members can also get soda during their shift. The TAP-crew ensures that the bars are built up, connected and dismantled. The size of this crew varies during the week, because more crew is needed on Monday and Tuesday night. The permanent group consists of 20 crew members and on these two nights many more volunteers.
The BULK-crew is responsible for logistics during the KEI-week. During the KEI-week a large amount of cables, fences, and people barriers etc need to be set up for the various events. The BULK-crew uses various modes of transport to move the materials so that they are all-in the right place at the right time. In addition, they are responsible for connecting the power lines, to make sure the events have electricity. This team consists of 8 volunteers.
The BULK-crew of 2018 is already complete, unfortunately you can no longer sign up.
The PROMO team is active both before and during the KEI-week. Before the KEI-week they help the Exec to promote the KEI-week on open days and handing out flyers to get Crew volunteers and KEI-leaders. During the KEI-week the PROMO-team serve as the question point for KEI-lopers and they hand out flyers and gadgets.
The PROMO-team of 2018 is already complete, unfortunately you can no longer sign up.
