Charity
Every year, the Executive Board selects a charity for which they will devote themselves. In this way, Stichting KEI wants to contribute to society. This year, Stichting KEI chose Jeugdfonds Sport & Cultuur Groningen.
The Youth Fund for Sports & Culture (Jeugdfonds Sport & Cultuur Groningen) covers the costs of a sport or cultural club memberships when households lack sufficient financial resources. It also provides the necessary sportswear, equipment, or rental of an instrument.
Every child should be able to dance, play football, practice judo, or sing. Every child should be able to discover what they enjoy, develop themselves, build self-esteem, and make friends. But if there isn’t enough money at home, doing so becomes difficult. Their parents cannot afford the membership fees or tuition. These children often play and exercise alone. But playing and exercising is not something you do alone; you do it together.
In the Netherlands, an average of 2 to 3 children per schoolclass grow up in a family with financial difficulties. In the province of Groningen, this number is even higher, affecting almost 11,000 children. 1 in 8 children in the Province of Groningen are financially unable to join a club. They cannot participate and end up being left out. The Youth Fund for Sport & Culture Groningen supports children and youth aged 0 to 17 years old, who grow up in a family living in financial difficulties.
