The KEI organisation involves a lot of work put in by a lot of people. At the centre of the organisation are seven students: the Executive Board. The Executive Board work-full time, for a year, for the KEI in order to set up the best introduction week possible for new students. The process of organising the KEI-week starts in December. From May, a group of eight Event Managers to join the team, followed by KEI-leaders and KEI-crew later on. In total there are about 1,200 students involved in the running of the KEI-week: the best introduction week there is!

Frequently asked questions for KEI-lopers

Do I have to be in Groningen during the KEI-week?

The KEI-week will mostly take place online this year. Therefore it is definitely possible to join the KEI-week from home. During the KEI-week you can meet some new friends online and you get to know Groningen. Besides the online activities there might be some physical activities in Groningen depending on the measures due to the coronavirus.

What does ‘KEI’ stand for?

KEI stands for “Kommissie Eerstejaars Introduktie” , which can be translated as “The commission for the introduction of first-year students”. The KEI-week is the general introduction week for all incoming higher education students, both at the University of Groningen and the Hanze University of Applied Sciences. The KEI-week is the oldest, largest and cheapest introduction week in the Netherlands.

When does the KEI-week takes place?

The KEI-week 2020 takes place from 10th until the 14th of August!

What does the KEI-week cost?

Register before the 1st of July and take advantage of the early bird discount! Until the 1st of July the price of registration is only €7,95! After this date it is still possible to register for the KEI-week. With your registration you get access to the platform before the KEI-week already. Most parts of the KEI-week will take place at the platform.

Who can sign up for the KEI-week?

The KEI-week is organized for all first year students of the University of Groningen, Hanze University of Applied Sciences, Obstetric Academy Amsterdam Groningen, Stenden University of Applied Sciences and HBO-NL. Pre-Master and Master students are also more than welcome!

Can I receive a refund if I have paid but choose not to attend the KEI-week?

It is not possible to claim a refund for any previously paid for ‘articles’ such as a ticket for the KEI-week. We advise you to wait with your registration until you are accepted at the university/school. We don’t have a maximum of participants for the KEI-week, so you can always sign up online for the KEI-week until the 14th of August.
